Item Description

Gabe Logan is a highly-trained Precision Strike Operative, commanding a black box U.S. Agency that, legally, doesn’t exist. Good Game
Enjoy playing Syphon Filter: Logan's Shadow, so decided to buy this too. Still a good game.

Hard gameplay
This game it's a classical, but with new features. I think this game a little hard to play. But, there are ways to configure the controls to became it more easy. I'll try it sometimes and perhaps I'll place more about it here. But worth the price.

The best it could possibly be
Syphon Filter: Dark Mirror packs a huge amount in one UMD, and not just in terms of quantity, but finesse, too. Here's a game that refused to acknowledge the limits that the sane world normally wordlessly imposes on portable games, and repeatedly impressed me. It's expansive, full of replay value, slick and well-made with some of the best graphics on the PSP.

There are issues, however. Those aforementioned limits exist for a reason. The PSP tries so hard to make third and first-person shooters work, but it simply isn't the case. Dark Mirror is choked by the same problem that suffocates every PSP shooter: the entirely lacking controls.

Additional problems arise with the the terrible plot: you simply don't know what the hell is going on or why you're in the locations the game drops you in. You don't even find out about the big threat you were faced with until the coda of the game, the final boss dead, in an uncomfortable moment along the lines of: "it's a good thing we killed these bad guys, because it turns out they were going to do some real nasty things". Maybe pointing out the gravity of the situation before I finished the game would have helped build tension. You don't even find out what 'Dark Mirror' is until the concluding cut scene.

Still, niggling complaints. If you really want a shooter while out and about, Syphon Filter is easily your best bet. The developer really pushed the limits for portable gameplay here.

Excellent game
There aren't a huge number of really well made games like Syphon Filter on PSP, but this one really shows off what a great system the PSP is.
