Item Description

Tales of Destiny is a remake of the original PlayStation™ version, featuring new graphics, new techniques, new scenes, new skits and more, it's everything a remake should be.

The game uses the AR-LMBS battle system, which allows for massive combos in mid-air, something never before seen in a Tales game. The characters all gain new techniques, some of which are from Tales of Destiny 2. Stahn and co have hi-ougis this time around, which look even more spectacular than those seen in previous Tales.

Previously in Tales games, skits have just features talking character portraits with litte to no animation. Not any more. Say hello to the new "Emotional Card" system, which shows a character's full body during skits, with fluid animation adding a new dimention to skits, which could previously be tedious to watch.

Just got this game in a few days ago. Simply astounding remake of a PSX classic. I loved the first Tales of Destiny, and when i played Tales of Rebirth for PS2 in all it\'s high-res 2D glory, i said to myself \"Damn, they should remake Tales of Destiny like this\". Lo and Behold, they did and i couldnt be happier. I love 2D games. Awesome voice acting in this and the battle system has been revamped and is about 5 x\'s more fun than before. they kept the original PSX opening that plays after the prologue of the game, however they did clean it up so it looks great and fits very well with the new look of the game.

The new battle system is sweet too. The new one is called the Arial Linear Battle System (AR-LBS). It lets you do some pretty fantasic combos on air-born opponents from what i can tell so far. There is also a new feature called Burst Calibur which seems to serve as Hi-Ougis for the game. The cool thing about the battle system is they got rid of the TP points, so you can use your moves as much as you like in battle. Techs now work off things called CC points that replenish after you execute an attack. Example, say you start the fight with 2 CC and you execute 2 attacks and use those 2 CC. About a second later, you get 3 CC back and you can do a combo string that uses 3 CC. Then you use those 3 CC and you will get 4 in return. Apparently the weapon limits the number of CC you have so it makes you try out different weapons. The good news is you can customize your Swordians this time and give them points in different parameters. Over all i\'m very pleased with this remake. I\'m sure there is virtually no chance of this coming statside.. if this does i\'ll be really surprised since ToRebirth didnt make it here nor did Tales of Destiny 2. Ah well, glad i learned a little Japanese :)

Thank you again Play-Asia, you are an importer best friend! /bow
