By deciding to pilot the Evangelion, the 14 years old boy, Shinji Ikari chooses a path of struggle and combat, entrusted with the heavy burden of mankind's fate, is about to enter into uncharted territories. Asuka, along together with Rei Ayanami, is the most popular heroine in the Evangelion world, enters into the fray piloting the Evangelion Unit Two. Joining them is another heroine, previously unknown but very alluring nonetheless. The war between the mysterious entitles known as "Angels" and the Eva series heats up even more with the introduction of new Evangelion units.

Gainax Has Raised The Bar!
This installment is nothing short of amazing. Move over Gundam, Gurren Lagann, Macross and Robotech. You have not seen anything till you have seen Eva 2.22! Having watched the entire original OVA, I was surprised at how adeptly Anno Hideaki handled the psychological and emotional aspect of the characters so well. They are still brooding, distant and aloof, but with each encounter, each sentence uttered, a form of satisfying closure is wrought.

The only way to go from here is Blu-ray 3D. But beware, your Plasma / LED / LCD screen might shatter from the 4th Impact in your Blu-ray player.

Why wait until 2011?
Unless you must have an English dub, there is no need to wait until mid-2011. The video quality is outstanding, and the subtitle track appears to be the same that Khara/Gainax has used for previous international theatrical screenings of Eva 2.22.

Extraordinary new take on a Masterpiece!
Amazing animation that is so vivid in the Blu ray format. Unmissable for any fan of the original Anime. No more to say but see it as soon as you can, it's brilliant.
