e.d Morrison Vinyl by Moonriders is a vinyl record release from the Japanese band known for their contributions to rock, pop, and experimental music. Moonriders have built a reputation for their creative arrangements and genre-blending style, making them a notable presence in Japan’s music scene.
With each member contributing a song, and with full participation from Wataru Sawabe and Yusuke Sato, who have provided precise and respectful support on stage in recent years, this new album is a rich collection of tracks, including songs created through one-take recording sessions by all members, as well as songs contributed by each member that reflect current events and the members' current positions. While their previous album, released in 2022, was touted as "aging rock," this album, too, opens up new horizons in Japanese rock music with rebellious spirit, insightful perspective, and literary lyrics, and a genre-transcending sound, reaching the one and only "Moonriders music." In this album as well, all members take turns on lead vocals and participate in chorus, and with the cooperation of Sound Crew Studio, a variety of instruments were used in the recording. For 50 years, they have consistently championed cutting-edge musical activities, and this album is a complicated work that questions the stagnant modern era.
The title "ed morrison" is an anagram of Moonriders.
It has been used as a pseudonym since the 1980s when all members collaborated on a project. The adoption of "ed morrison" as the title of this album embodies the idea that it is an album created by all members of Moonriders, including Tetsurō Kashibuchi and Tohru Okada.
