This special release highlights the legacy of the artist with a curated selection of tracks that reflect their musical evolution and signature style.
In October 1990, GP Rider, a racing game based on the 500cc World Grand Prix, was released in arcades by Sega. Two-player simultaneous play featured online multiplayer, leading to heated dead heats. To commemorate the 35th anniversary of the arcade version, Sega Music Co., Ltd. will release the 35th anniversary commemorative CD, GP Rider - 35th Anniv. Album.
The album includes 14 tracks from the 1990 arcade version, created by long-time Sega sound producers such as Takenobu Mitsuyoshi, Hiro-sensei, and Yasuhiro Takagi; 6 tracks from the 1993 overseas Master System port (not released in Japan); and 10 tracks from the 1994 Game Gear port. Each track features newly recorded audio from the original hardware. This marks the first time the audio from the overseas Master System and Game Gear ports has been commercially released.
In addition, the album includes a total of 34 tracks, including 4 rearranged versions created specifically for this album. The highlight of this album is the Special Bonus Tracks, in which three popular arcade tracks are rearranged by three different creators, each with their own unique approach
The booklet also includes comments from Takenobu Mitsuyoshi, Hiro-sensei, Yasuhiro Takagi, and Koichi "Mickey" Namiki Relive the "Exciting Circuit!" through music, presented with the latest recording and mastering for 2026, supervised by Master Hiro!
