A great Schmup but...
The only issue i have with Ghost Blade HD is the lack of "story", there is no intro, no presentation of the background events or explanation to why we are here; As soon as you press "options" (or start) you are directly in action blasting ships (after you have chosen you character, among three, of course). In this regard, the game is rather short as there is no time lost in storytelling.
But if you don't mind this point, it's a really fun game and a really good Shoot'em up with subtile elements regarding how you play (such as if you shoot using the "focus attack" or the normal one).
The chara design is really cool, the game is beautiful (for such games), but the music is forgetable. There are 5 levels filled with action and the further you go, new gameplay options unlock (score attack, training, boss attack...). So yeah, it's a really good game, if only it had more background to have me be more invested in its quest for saving Mars people.
If you like this kind of game and haven't tried it yet, i would recommend "Caladrius Blaze" that is rather similar but a big improvement in every department and it will hook you for many, many hours; But i am really happy to add GhostBlade HD to my collection thanks to Play Asia.
I won't give it a 5/5 because i already gave this appreciation to Caladrius Blaze (which gives a lot more) but deserves a good score because what it does is really good.
Un bon jeu mais qui a pour défaut de n'avoir aucune histoire à nous raconter, pas d'intro ni dialogue pour nous expliquer le pourquoi nous devons faire ce que nous faisons. Du coup le jeu en est d'autant plus rapide à terminé car on ne perd pas de temps dans de l'exposition; Mais à contrario, une fois son perso choisi, on est directement dans l'action (5 niveaux durant).
Le jeu est plutot joli, le chara design est tres cool, seules les musiques sont assez oubliables. Un bon Shoot'em up avec quelques subtilités de gameplay à découvrir. D'ailleurs, si le genre vous branche bien et que vous ne l'avez toujours pas essayé, je vous conseille "Caladrius Blaze" qui lui ressemble beaucoup mais qui est beaucoup plus complet à tous les niveaux (etant plus récent que Ghost Blade original) et qui vous tiendra en haleine beaucoup plus longtemps (et qui est bourré d'histoires ;) ).
Bref un bon Schmup auquel je ne met pas 5/5 car j'ai mis cette note à Caladrius Blaze (car il est beaucoup plus complet) mais il mérite une bonne appréciation tout de même car le peu qu'il fait, il le fait bien et je suis très content d'avoir pu l'ajouter à ma collection grâce à Play Asia.
Foncez, vous serez pas déçu (et les frais de ports sont gratuits) et les héroïnes vous recompenseront de leurs plastiques généreuses.
