Featuring a vast region to explore, a wonderful cast of characters, and a huge variety of activities to enjoy, Rune Factory: Tides of Destiny is sure to make waves! Aden and Sonja, two lifelong friends, live a tranquil life on Fenith Island until they're struck by a mysterious curse: they awaken to find both of their souls are now trapped in the same body! On top of this unusual calamity, the Fenith they knew is gone, replaced by a strange island populated with unfamiliar faces. Only by exploring this new world will they be able to solve the mystery of this curse and save their beloved Island. During the course of their journey, Aden and Sonja will be aided by a colorful cast of characters, as well as take command of the towering golem Ymir. Using their newfound giant friend, they'll cross vast seas, discover hidden islands and dungeons packed with riches, and battle fearsome monsters of the deep!

Pretty neat game, quite happy with the Purchase.

As with all RPG's, Tutorials are extensive....but well worth paying attention to. There were times in the game where I was unsure what I had to do next, however a quick browse fixed that.
As for gameplay, combat scenarios lose their edge after a while and become a little tedious.

Charming

The game has much more of a story with anime segments thrown into the mix. You play as two characters (male & female) in the same body who are in some sort of alternate universe from where they lived before. Long story short, you have a house, you have a town full of people you've never met but want to be friends with, and you have chores to do.

The similarities are striking. It's a farming and social game with an added mix: dungeon crawling. However, unlike Harvest Moon, you're not waking up at the crack of dawn to water plants and plow fields. Instead, you have an island (explained later) that you grow veggies on. Instead of buying seed, planting, and all the Harvest Moon stuff you'd do, you use a magic stick to plant on soil. There's not a lot to it. The way you get seeds are to go to different islands and pet a monster until he becomes your slave. They'll tend your garden but you have to pick the plants to sell or make stuff with.

Cute RPG

I'm new to the series, so it took a while to get the hang of it. There are a lot of stuff to do in this game, so it will keep you entertained for many hours if you're into this micro management genre of growing crops, taming monster and exploring islands. I deducted one star since some of the menus, dialog and gameplay can get tedious.
