A fantastic underrated, unknown gem on NES!
A rare, hidden gem on the NES. Labyrinth Island is the Japanese name and Kickle Cubicle is the English name. A seemingly straightforward action puzzle game filled with challenging puzzles and rapid moving gameplay. It has hours of tricky puzzles. This is one of thew earliest NES games I remember playing. The main game has 5 worlds, each with 10 - 20 stages in them. After that, you are taken to the special stages. I am not sure how many there are, I never beat them all. It seemed to just go on forever.
Their are some region differences between the USA and JPN versions. For a start, the Japanese version is a little harder. Secondly, the Japanese version has a level select. After completing the first stage in a world you are currently in, you can fly around as Kickle and play any stage in any order from the world you are currently on. You can bring up a map by pressing either select or A. There are no differences between the bosses in the USA or JPN versions. This game allows you to input a password to continue where you left off, but I have never seen the game give me a password.
Bottom line, this game is a fast paced action/puzzle game and one of the best at this genre. The other game with this genre I recommend is Flappy.
