Not enough of a leap forward
It's noticeable that this games was developed for release on PS2 as well. The graphics aren't at the level you'd expect for a PS3 game, even if it is a 2008 game.
This is basically the same game as 2005's 'Playground of Destruction', in a new location, with a new story and new gameplay quirks. Helicopters are available much earlier this time around, but you lose the ability to stun grenade High Value Targets, and you can't extract them yourself to a safe(r) area to then let a faction take them away.
There's a large variety of vehicles, supplies and artillery/airstrikes, but you are limited in their use by fuel and cash. Fuel in particular is a cool gameplay concept that in practice is more annoying than useful.

Even so, just the thrill of blowing stuff up and raising hell in tanks and choppers keeps me coming back to this game in spite of its many shortcomings.

Crazy!
Big world and tons of fun! Lots of explosion that will knock your socks off. Crazy characters that makes it all the more wonderful! Have fun!

Lots of fun
This game is great fun, sure its got problems but who cares when you can call in bunker busters and other beautifully explodey ordnance

Action
So far I like all the missions I have played, have not finished it yet and did not play the first one, but it doesn't matter because I have been able to follow the story.
