Deskripsi Item

Kirby's adventure for the Nintendo 64 is a polygonal side-scroller similar to Klonoa - however, unlike Klonoa, the game only follows one set path instead of multiple branching paths. In this game, Kirby can still copy the abilities of his foes - but in addition to this, he can combine these abilities with others to make unique combinations. (For one example, combining electricity and ice will turn Kirby into a fridge that spits out food.)The story begins with Dark Matter assaulting a faraway land for their special crystal. A young fairy called Ribbon takes the crystal and escapes to save it. She lands in Dream Land, but pieces of the crystal have shattered and landed all across the world. Kirby volunteers to help and together they go to find all the missing pieces.Kirby will encounter his friends, who have been controlled by Dark Matter. He'll have to battle them to rescue them. From there, they travel together to other different worlds, including Rock Star, Water Star, and Ripple Star, Ribbon's home world, where Dark Matter is lurking. To properly finish the game, players must find all the hidden crystal shards tucked away in the various levels. Only then will Kirby and his friends truly save Ripple Star.

Best Kirby game since Kirby Super Star!
This game has stayed true to the original Kirby series with its own new twist by combining abilities together to create new abilities. It makes it unique, fun, and interesting at the same time!

The one player mode has a lot to offer, most of the stages are completely different with very well created music for the game! The bosses are all unique in ways I haven't really seen before! There are 6 worlds, each having 3-5 stages including end of world bosses and midbosses throughout. Also, as you are playing the game, there are blue crystals (resembling the shards I guess) you will need to collect. There are 3 per stage and when you get all of them, the final area opens up where you will meet the O2, a strange lifeform that could be dark matter. It is basically a flying eyeball with wings, and doesn't look happy to see Kirby. Kirby will meet his friends including DeDeDe and Waddle Dee to help him in his quest. The story mode is just awesome!

There are also multiplayer games which one in particular really draws my attention. The game calls it Checkboard Chase, I always called it the Checker Game. You have up to 4 players (computers replace non-present human players) and the idea is that everyone walks on this checkerboard shooting their beam in lines that make the check pieces fall. If you get caught, you fall and lose one life. It is super simple, but addicting as anything!

I actually played through this game in English many years ago and finally got Kirby Epic Yarn and was majorly disappointed that it was nothing like an actual Kirby game thinking to myself "I waited 10 years for this?" In a quick effort to locate Kirby 64, I discovered it had been stolen. Thanks to Playasia, I have been able to relive one of Kirby's greatest games ever in Kirby 64: The Crystal Shards... in Japanese, but still a fantastic game where I do not mind the text being in Japanese!
