Dragon Age: Origins

Another truely must have game. Hours of gameplay with unbelievable replayability. This is the closest thing to the good old RPG days of Baldur's Gate and Neverwinter Nights.

For lovers of RPGs.

This game pack also comes with the DLC where you get Shale, the golem.

This is a large game that will take weeks to complete (for a normal person that still have to go to work/school/eat/whatever). The story is involving and each main quest arc is... epic.

You have the choice of playing as a warrior/rogue/mage and then select 2 specializations to refine the class. You also get to choose your race (therefore determining your starting story, ie. origin) and your physical appearance. This is a classic western styled RPG. You get companions along the way who may join you, although max 4 party members (including yourself) at any one time. That's plenty to mix and combine to come up with different play styles.

One little thing I loved about the game is that if you're a melee and you'd just been through numerous battles and arrives at a cut scene - you and your (melee) party members will be covered in bits of blood over your face, armor, weapons, etc. Nice touch.

I didn't think they would be able to do it but Bioware made the combat system work just fine on consoles. Along with multiple origin stories, a long and rich storyline, great voice acting and interesting combat, this game is a real treat for RPG fans.
