Radiant Historia

one of the best rpg games I've played in years, without a doubt one of the essentials in the ds catalog

Radiant Historia's time-travel element is one of its selling points, but is also a source of confusion and frustration. The game is very much enjoyable, as long as you keep track of all the different branches in the timeline.

It's absolutely the best JRPG from last gen, considering that it's on a DS make it really amazing.

A great example of a DSera RPGs. Not sure if it is considered "one of the best", but if you want to feel the spirit of not-so-oldschooled RPGs, this is probably what you need. Despite its 2011 release year, feels like an old one. Its main virtue is story, with even side-quests being very amusing and far from tedious ones we often see in modern games. The story is centered around time-travelling (though you can't "rewind" like in Prince of Persia, it's more of a plot tool), so sometimes it's literally hard to understand what is actually required and how to complete some of'em. However, the graphics are pretty Meh (which is understandable, given it's rather old DS game), soundtrack is not outstanding either and the combat system does not change drastically as the game flows on, so frequent battles can become rather annoying.

One of the best stories I had played for an RPG that even beats stories for current generation console RPG's!

Battle system also makes you think your tactics every time and not simply button mashing.

Definitely a must-buy for all 3DS users who loves great story and action in RPG's!
