Yurukill: The Calumniation Games (Multi-Language)

The game tries to mix richer story with visual novel elements together with more involved shoot'em up mechanics. While it may not feel a good match, it's still refreshing nonetheless, and a noble attempt I would like to see them do it again.

The presentation of the game is lovely. The game is available in English so there is no language barrier. The artwork is clean, crisp, and detailed. The story is…serviceable… but nothing special. The game itself looks fairly clean and runs smoothly, but I find that the player ship feels a bit too floaty and unresponsive for my liking. I prefer snappier shooting games like the DoDonPachi series, but this feels more like Under Defeat or Raystorm.

All in all, it’s not bad for the price and worth checking out, but I doubt it’ll be hitting your “Top 10 Favourite Shmup Games Ever” lists any time soon.
