Game works as intended. Since blu-ray alot of common places have started sharing the same region lock. The game is advertised as region free. Upon entering the disc in my ps5 the system automatically detected the region settings and the game popped up in English. Even downloaded the update for English voice acting.
For the game itself it takes place in a series known as Yakuza ( like a dragon in Japan). This entry takes place alongside it's 7th and 2nd spinoff ( Judgment) entries. If you are new to the series I would highly suggest either playing the other games in the series or watching some videos to fully get the lore to enjoy the game as much as possible. As an end to one saga and a beginning to another I don't know how they could have done it better.
