Thirty years ago, at Yamabiki Manor in Narumisawa, renowned painter Mizuryu Uchida was murdered. A mysterious body was discovered beside the pond where the murder occurred. Despite an ongoing police investigation, the case was ultimately closed after the suspect’s death.

Now, thirty years later, a group of distinctive members from Associate Professor Ayame Minato's seminar, led by a young expert in criminal psychology, visits Yamabiki Manor to re-examine the case as part of their research project. As they delve deeper, new facts begin to surface, suspects come to light, and the truth behind the unsolved case is gradually revealed—along with the hidden emotions beneath their seemingly cheerful exteriors.
