Item Description

Produced by Studio Ghibli with music composed by Joe Hisaishi, Ninokuni is a magical land, and PlayStation3 is the new portal to the world. The orphan Oliver is determined to save his mother, who died to save him. In order to do so, he followed Shizuku, the fairy of the tears into the world of Ninokuni to defeat the evil magician Jabo. The fairy gave him a book of spells and off he went on his journey. Things however are not quite so simple, the night before Oliver's mother died, a mysterious girl appeared before him to warn him of the impending disaster. And throughout Oliver's journeys, a masked queen watches everything from the darkness.

Ni no kinu
Although the game has its smaller flaws, it is still verenjoyable. I especially like the inclusion of furigana for all the text.

japanese version
it finally came! i'm starting to study Japanese again and this is the perfect game to test my abilities! furigana is extremely useful! i'm glad they added that in. i recommend it to anyone learning.

the game looks beautiful! i've only played for 5 minutes and i know i will enjoy it. it has an incredible presentation and it's neatly organized. wonderful cutscenes.
i'm a big fan of Studio Ghibli and i enjoyed Dark Cloud on PS2! definitely a nice combination!!

if only i knew the English version can switch languages in the menu. so far, i can't see that option on the Japanese version.

Classic
A beautifull game, maybe too classic...A minimum level of japane is required to fully enjoyed the game.

Great fun, excellent graphics, simple japanese
Graphics: 5/5
The Studio Ghibli influence on the art in this game is amazing. It really does look like something from a Ghibli movie, and comes with many animated sequences. The character and monster animations are very smooth; its easy to get distracted and just end up walking around looking at things.

Audio: 4.5/5
The sound quality in the game is very high and it has a very good backing track. However, I did find a few areas where after cut-scene / battle the backing music faded away and didn't return until a reload of a saved game.

Gameplay: 5/5
The gameplay is quite reminiscent of a less-annoying-version of pokemon, where you collect monsters and evolve them and fight with them. The battle system is real time, not turn based, however, which takes some getting used to. Pretty much from the beginning you have the freedom to run around where ever you like, which is a nice change from other textured-pipe games. Had a lot of fun with this~

Some other notes:
- The story is similar but not identical to the DS version of this game.
- The japanese is simple through and includes furigana.
- Don't get rid of the physical book; you'll need it for comprehension questions. XD

The japanese in it is very simple and easy to understand, and comes with furigana for all of the kanji.

On top of that, the game is absolutely stunning with the Studio Ghibli style very obvious.
