One of the best gift for Christmas is not only a good game but also a good steelbook of a good game for collection.

I own P5 on PS3 and never played Royal due to lack of PS4, and finally, after many years Atlus decided to release the game on relevant platforms, so now it is a perfect time to buy the game for people who don't own PS4 or PS5.

Persona series now is basically kind of like social sim (or rather dating and hanging out with friends elements) in Japanese school setting with classic turn-based JRPG dungeon crawling gameplay and with heavy story elements, and P5 takes make huge emphasis on social and story parts.

There are many changes compared to vanilla version, such as Kasumi, bigger length of the game thanks to new semester, new palace, some QOL changes, etc. However, some would not appreciate the fact that Royal is much easier compared to original due to overpowered personas and new items, some people may dislike new endings too although Royal version is not cannon (yet).

Still, the huge pro of this version is the fact that now you can play the game on the go with Switch and that is the best way to play such a long game, IMHO, and if you're into modding then there is PC version for you which is absolutely worth getting along with Switch version, for that reason alone (i.e. you can restore some cut content or uncensor some dialoges as well, not to mention other stuff).

Definitely buy this game, no matter if you're familiar with the series or the developer or even the genre, that is of course unless you really don't like Japanese games. It is one of the best games released recently that didn't age at all, pretty much like most Atlus games.

To much hype and portable.

I play this game on ps4 and I fell in love, amazing port to switch and better with all extras.

worth its hype

I owned it for the PS4 but I was too tempted by the portability - and I regret nothing. The steelbook is gorgeous and shiny (comes with a protective outer cardboard case too), and the game runs super smoothly on the SW, I really couldn't notice any major downgrades or anything. Perhaps if you're extremely obsessive about it, but for average people you won't be missing anything.

Plus, all DLC included, etc. It's a great deal, and these types of JRPGs are just MADE to be played on handheld.
