Recently announced at Sony Japan's Pre TGS conference, the PlayStation Vita PCH-2000 is the newest iteration of Sony's flagship handheld. When compared with the original PS Vita, the physical differences are immediately obvious, as the PCH-2000 model is 20 percent thinner, 15 percent lighter and comes in multiple colours. The OLED screen has now been replaced with a 5 inch LCD display - Sony confidently stated that this new screen will still deliver the beautiful graphics found native to the system.The original dedicated power/transfer cable has now been replaced with a micro USB, allowing convienience of use as well as portability; the original power adapter stays with the original PS Vita. With regards to actual battery life, the PS Vita PCH-2000 boast an extra hour for 4-6 hours of active use. More importantly, and perhaps the biggest difference of all is the initial price; the new PS Vita is actually cheaper than the original model even after the price drop of the latter - hopefully fans of portable gaming who have not purchased a Vita can finally take advantage of the proposed 100 Vita titles by the end of 2013.Though admittedly a slow start, Sony hopes to revitalize the Vita brand, especially at a crucial moment just before the launch of the PlayStation 4. For gamers, this attractively priced console is the perfect way to take advantage of all the future cross play Vita/PS4 possibilites if not to just to own one of the most powerful handhelds ever created.

Love this slim
Owned the 1000 series and was happy with it until analog stick malfunctioned and waiting for replacement part. So ordered the slim version.
This one is so much slimmer and lighter I can play longer without feeling fatigue. It feels better in hands and I can handle it with one hand without feeling strained.
The new design is sleek and simple. The power light on top instead of PS button is acceptable though personally preferred that. It has a younger design which makes it easier on the eyes.
The PS, start and select buttons are now bigger and easier to press but not too protruding or large for me to worry about pressing it by accident. The buttons and D-pad feel have more feedback and feel better to use.
The speakers of the new Vita are updated and much louder than the old ones making the playing experience even better than ever.
If youve owned an older version and didnt like the weight or speaker, this might be a good change. And those who didnt have a Vita, now is a good time to get youselves one :)

Great device
I didn't own the previous model, so I can't compare. But I can say that this one is fantastic. With the sales on the EU store, I got plenty of games and enough room to store them with the 64GB card. I'm enjoying it a lot so far.

Pure sexiness
This Vita is so much better looking than my PCH-1000. It is lighter, slimmer, and just beautiful. The screen is a sidegrade but don't let its LCD spec push you away from this purchase, it is just the perfect upgrade from the PCH-1000!
