Worthy JRPG
It's nice to see a remaster of this game. Never finished the original and have yet to play this. Like another reviewer said, this isn't your typical JRPG, or is it? Some are a breeze from start to finish and some use different mechanics, maybe that's why I never finished the original. So for me to play this, I may have to play others that I really want to play first or I will end up putting this one down. It's still definitely worth having in the JRPG collection. It lasts about 31 hours for main story and side quests according to another source.

Once and overlooked classic, now a game everyone knows about.
SAGA frontier was a classic back on the playstation for those that played it. It was a bit of a hidden gem for a long time.
You got to play 7 story lines from the perspective of different characters, And in the remaster we have the 8th characters story restored to the game that never made it in. That alone can make this worth picking up as a definitive directors cut of the game. And even thought they went with the more clean look for modern displays, it still retains a lot of the charm of the OG games look. That looks sadly got it bad reviews back when it came out in the West, despite its interesting gameplay and story.

Good Remaster
Admittedly I have not finished this game with many characters yet. I played through it with the robot dude and I have gotten through half the game with the blue wizard guy. So my first thoughts were the game was trash. I had no clue what I was doing. There is little direction at all. I did not play the original PS1 game. However I was determined to figure this game out. Then I actually discovered that the story was open ended and the main quest was secondary. This is not your usual RPG, with systems that are very different than your standard Level Up and get better. I wont spoil it for you but I have come to love this game and if you want something a bit different I am sure you will too.
