World-famous filmmaker Satoshi Kon's final collection of storyboards will be published this summer!

2023 will be 13 years since the death of director Satoshi Kon.
Fukkan.com has published all the storyboard collections of the director's theater works such as "PERFECT BLUE", "Millennium Actress", "Tokyo Godfathers", and "Paprika".
And there are only two remaining works that have not been published with storyboards so far. These are the only serial TV series, "Delusional Agent" and the posthumous short film "Ohayou".
The collection of storyboards that director Kon has worked on for both works is "Toshi Kon Storyboard Collection Delusion Agent / Ohayou", and the publication of this book will conclude Director Kon's "storyboard collection" series.

"Delusional Agent" is a 13-episode television anime that aired on WOWOW in 2004. Ima is in charge of the original story and general director.

Whether it's an urban legend or a real crime, a boy slasher with a metal bat runs on roller skates! Mysterious people appear in front of the two detectives in charge of the investigation, and mysterious events follow. At some point, a simple juvenile crime begins to reveal an abnormal aspect that shakes the "reality".

Although it is a one-episode format, the story development that gradually changes in quality expresses a peculiarity that is not found elsewhere in TV animation. As a result, it has become a masterpiece that fully incorporates the artistry of Satoshi Kon, which is on a par with theater productions.
In the position of general director, Ima was in charge of the storyboards for the 13 episodes, the 1st episode "Shonen Bat Appearance", the 2nd episode "Golden Shoes" (alias), and the 9th episode "ETC". ” (this episode is an omnibus format with short dramas stacked). And the 13th episode that concludes the end will literally be "the final episode."
These 4 episodes will be included in this storyboard collection.

"Ohayou", which was recorded at the same time, is a short film produced as part of "Ani*Kuri 15", which was broadcast on NHK from 2007 to 2008, and is the last completed work of the current director.
In this program, 15 creators, including Director Kon, Mamoru Oshii, Makoto Shinkai, Masaharu Kawamori, and Masahiro Maeda, will produce short animation works under the condition of "1 minute broadcast time, theme and content are free". It was an ambitious project.
What the director just drew here is a woman who lives alone, getting ready to go to work after waking up in the morning. It can be called an extra edition, so to speak.

This project will be the director's last collection of storyboards.
