This game is beautiful.
This JRPG is amazing. If you liked the original, you'll love this remake, with new features that enhance the experience. However, if you prefer a more classic experience, you can leave it as it is in the options. A must-buy.

Different way to do a low-fi remake, and this hits really high
Using a more hybrid of 2D pixel character art infused with realistic backdrops certainly makes this one of the more unique approach to remakes we've seen so far, and it works very well.
To do it with the BEST star ocean title to date is just an icing on the cake. A must own if you are a fan of JRPG and/or fan of a Star Ocean series.

11GB Download Required???!!!
Did SquEnix of JP go all out and include the ENTIRE GAME on the game-card, or did SE-JP cheap-out and force an 11-17GB mandatory download of 75% of the original content, such as with the North American full-priced physical retail version? It still amazes me that Square-Enix of North America decided to put only part of the game upon the lowest capacity N.Switch game-card possible.... insulting, given the full price of admission!! So, can anyone who owns the Japanese version state some facts please? Much appreciated! :v ~ "No Cheap Cost-Cutting Partial-Game Cartridge Retail Releases Please!!"

Better than the original version.
Just about everything in this remake is better than the original PS1 version. So buy this and don't pay the outrageous prices for the original. And yes the voice acting is so much better. You won't hear ENERGY ARROW over and over in this version.
