*dlc campaigns make your created char much more important
*You are your own created char in the story, instead of having your char be Kirito in the story (like Hollow Realization)
*easier to get used to
*faster combat
*your created char has romance options (though limited to 3 chars)
*lots of weapons to choose from
*can change colors for all weapons

Cons
*Kirito is still more important, even though they made the main story seem like your Avatar is the focus.
*less sword combos
*Your created char doesn't fight named chars like Death Gun. Only Kirito does.
