When Nozomi loses contact with her younger sister, Hikari Takizawa, who is studying at a university in Nagano, concern turns to suspicion after Nozomi discovers that a student from the same university has been murdered. Unable to travel to the scene, Nozomi begins investigating the case remotely through the internet. RD: Remote Deduction is a desktop suspense mystery centered on the concept of the “armchair detective,” letting players search fictional websites through the Glome search engine and investigate relationships through the social network Z.

Collect Detective Words (D-Words) discovered during online investigations, then use them to uncover additional information and piece together the mystery. The fictional online content also draws inspiration from real locations and television programs in Nagano, giving the investigation a grounded and authentic atmosphere.
