Great game for idolmaster fans
It's a pretty enjoyable game for fans of the anime
This is a Taiko no Tasujin game skined up in the Idolm@ster song lists. If you love Taiko games then you know what to expect. Even on console the songs can give you a run for your money.
The game really comes alive when you also love Idolm@ster. The main feature in this game is the "Live Festival" mode. Where it will pick 2-6 songs (based on Idol rank) and you will preform these songs "live". It adds a lot of life to the game and is just downright awesome.
I came into this as a fan of Taiko no Tatsujin and it's gameplay. That's half the battle right there. Taiko no Tatsujin is a long-running and solid Music Rhythm series of games with solid, simple and enjoyable gameplay that also ramps up in a BIG way when you start to crank the difficulty up. This particular game is a crossover with the long-running Idolm@ster series. The basic idea is this, it's Taiko no Tatsujin gameplay and overall setup, menus and visualizations and all of that. The music is all from the Idolm@ster series. I've played through about half of the songs you have access to from the start and I'm liking the music enough so far. It's all very similar J-pop kinda stuff you see in these games, but that's not really a bad thing. Nothing has really stood out to me personally, but nothing sounds bad so far either. I like it enough to get the companion Red Board sometime down the line.
So again, if you like Music Rhythm games and especially if you like Taiko no Tatsujin's gameplay, and you are good with Idolm@ster songs, then this seems like an easy choice to me.
this is a taiko game with iM@S songs. it is really fun, and gets very difficult. highly recommended for those who love drums
