description

Limited Editions limited to 2,000 copies.

To what ends will one go in order to survive?

When seven people fall prey to a vicious curse, they discover that the true threat rests not within the shadows, but within their own hearts and minds. The Letter: A Horror Visual Novel is an interactive horror-themed drama inspired by classic Asian horror films. Told through an immersive branching narrative, the game casts players in the ever-shifting roles of seven characters as they find themselves entangled in a mystery that’s plagued Ermengarde Mansion for centuries.
The choices you make will shape and drive the story forward. Will you mend a relationship on the verge of collapse, or will you let it fall apart? Will you risk saving someone despite the consequences you could face or leave them to meet a gruesome end? Beyond the horror themes of The Letter: A Horror Visual Novel, there is a heavy emphasis on character development and interaction. The fate of each of these individuals is in your hands.

Really Great English Horror VN! ♡
I really, really enjoyed this visual novel. I haven't 100% it as yet, so I'm giving it 4 stars because there's a lot I don't understand with the main story (I've beat it once so far so I'm assuming there's more info I'm missing as to what happened) other than that, my other issue is some voice lines are missing voices, like, let's say out of 50,000 voice lines, 49,990 aren't voiced- if that makes sense, maybe a bit less; so nothing really bothersome. I'll be doing more playthroughs and once I fit the entire story together, hopefully that'll make it a big 5 stars for me. Otherwise, it's very worth it to buy and the voice acting is quite good. Lots of endings as well as relationship pairing.

A Flawed Masterpiece
The Letter is one of those VNs that aims high and almost pulls it off, but falls at the last hurdle.

From a scope perspective, the game certainly steps up to the plate. The idea that every single choice you make can have far-reaching consequences is definitely praise-worthy but there are definitely points where the cracks start to show and continuity starts to break down. The moments aren't common, but they definitely break the immersion.

The English voices are great, with only a single character sounding slightly less enthusiastic that the rest of the cast, which is a definite plus considering most VNs are either voiceless or tend to only have Japanese voiceovers.

The graphics are good, and what animation there is very well done and provides a pleasant change from static characters on still backgrounds and really adds to the immersion.

The music is a definite stand-out in this game though, with tracks matching the tone very well and the CE coming with the Soundtrack was a great addition.

The main place where the game falls down is the English text. Not in the content, but in the fact that the game clearly needed a good proofreader. With tenses disagreeing and other grammatical errors, it certainly takes away from the whole experience which is really unfortunate as the story it tells is top-notch.

Highly recommended, but a bit more polish would have done wonders.

Awesome Horror VN
I've just finished playing this game and what a brilliant horror VN it is. The animations are great & I was pleasantly surprised with the english voice acting. They did a great job. Would definitely recommend this VN! 5/5.

Una Novela Visual que Merece Mas Reconocimiento
Muy recomendado para amantes de VN que quieran pasar unas noches de terror. Tendrán que leer un pelín pero vale la pena (ademas de contar con mas de 20 finales).

Fine visual novel
The writing is ok and the setting is good. Though there are better horror visual novels out there, this is still worth going into foe fans of the genre.
