Gorgeous Laid-Back DOA Dating Simulator for Console!
'Venus Vacation: Prism' is a slightly different but excellent spin-off from the 'DOA Xtreme' series. This game is a Dating Sim with dialogue choices and photography being the key game mechanics as you assemble and shepherd a group of 'Venuses' for an upcoming festival. Great art and game direction along with unlockable content makes each playthrough fun and rewarding as there are six characters from the 'DOA' fighting games as well as from the 'DOA Venus Vacation' spin-off. Each girl is an excellent catch, and the outfits are classy while making the heart race. This game is different from the excellent 'DOA Xtreme 3' in that there are no volleyball and poolside mini-games. Instead the game focuses on getting to know the girls better and hopefully, win one of them over romantically. The photography mechanics might seem too much at first, but you can start simple, building up your confidence as you play, a trait this game shares with the 'DOA' fighting games: easy to pick up and play, but you can work towards mastery. I purchased the Collector's Edition for the PS4, and the extras are excellent; the Photo Book is beautiful, and the Nanami body pillow case is quite amazing (you can hang it as a poster if you prefer). Just remember if you buy the Asia version like I did, you will need an Asian PSN account to access the DLC. The Japanese copy does not support other languages, but I also have a Japanese copy for that purpose. I hope everyone who enjoys 'DOA'--whether they prefer the fighting games or the 'Venus Vacation Xtreme' spin-offs will pick up and play this lovingly- crafted and enjoyable console game, either Standard or Collector's Edition. I always wondered what it would be like to date Tamaki: thanks to this game, now I know, and so can you. Thanks for reading!
