It looks and plays amazing. Plus the option to switch to retro graphics and audio is just brilliant.

This game is absolutely brilliant. A short, challenging game that does a great job at balancing the old gameplay with modern graphics and amenities. The hand-drawn graphics are a treat to look at, but with a press of a button at anytime you can return to the original 8-bit graphics. The music fits the different locales, the variety of characters you can transform into creates different playstyles, and the world allows and encourages exploration to discover the next path and all sorts of extras to discover. While the game is beatable in a few hours, shorter if you know where everything is, it's a game prime for repeat run-throughs and speed runs. The extras include by Nicalis, a full-color manual, a rubber key chain, and a sample soundtrack CD makes this a perfect game to own physically. Do yourself a favor and play the new standard for remakes of classic games.
