Innovative but slightly disappointing
I was looking forward to Mirror's Edge after the amazing trailers that surfaced last fall. And I can't say I hated this game at all. But it was at times very frustrating, and felt very short and shallow.
The graphics and gameplay are brilliant and innovative, and I have to give EA and DICE credit for taking a gamble on a new IP, as they so seldom have in the past.
The story is basically absent. There's no character development and the cutscenes don't provide much insight. The ending is also abrupt and disappointing.
The real joy in this game is the speed and flow of movement, and I think the time trials and DLC races should be the focus of anyone considering this game. If you're looking for an interesting story or heavy action, pass on Mirror's Edge, but if you love shaving seconds off your best races, then definitely pick it up.
