Shallow but fun arcade racer
Split/Second is literally a one trick pony; you race around tracks taking down opponents by triggering environmental hazards. Car handling is very forgiving (think Burnout), sense of speed is excellent, but there isn't really much else outside of some cool set-pieces. The game also features some absolutely shocking computer catch-up. You'll never race alone, and in fact being first is not as advantageous as it is in other racers. Hopefully the sequel will add to what is otherwise a promising template.
