What Goes Up is a chaotic physics-based building game where players take on dangerous interplanetary junk-removal jobs, using grav guns, hover packs, bounce pads, and teamwork to construct enormous towers and bridges from discarded objects before everything collapses.
What Goes Up drops players into the bizarre world of GALACTIC REFUSE CO., where dangerous planets are covered with Earth's discarded junk. Players must collect this refuse and transform it into towering structures that can reach recovery ships, cross gaps, or overcome challenging terrain.
The game combines physics-based construction, chaotic problem-solving, and cooperative gameplay. Players can build upward, sideways, or across multiple towers while dealing with unpredictable physics and environmental hazards. The latest announcement also confirms that the game supports solo play as well as cooperative play for up to four players, giving players the choice between carefully planning their constructions alone or embracing the chaos with friends.
Chaotic Physics-Based Construction
Stack, balance, and improvise with enormous piles of junk as you attempt to create structures capable of reaching your objectives without collapsing.
Build Up, Across, and Sideways
Construction isn't limited to simply making taller towers. Players can create bridges across gaps, multiple towers, or unconventional structures to solve different physics-based challenges.
Play Solo or Cooperatively
Take on missions alone or work with a crew of up to four players. Cooperation can help with construction, exploration, and recovering misplaced pieces, but poor teamwork can just as easily send the whole structure crashing down.
Specialized Construction Tools
Use grav guns to move and position junk, hover packs to reach difficult areas and recover stray objects, and bounce pads to launch characters or pieces of junk into the air.
Hazardous Planets
Construction takes place across dangerous environments containing threats such as lava rivers, electrical hazards, meteor showers, unstable structures, and falling debris.
Recover the Junk
The ultimate goal is to construct whatever is necessary to get discarded materials to the recovery ship, turning seemingly useless garbage into elaborate solutions to each mission.
Customizable Stackers
Players can discover stylish outfits hidden among the junk, allowing their characters to look the part while carrying out their questionable refuse-relocation duties.
