One year has passed since the last movie and it has been a fight for survival for the remnants of the Band of the Hawk and its new leader, Casca. After being separated during the whole time, Guts reunites with his former comrades to rescue Griffith from the prison of Midland. But what they find is not what they expected and will lead to what is the biggest game-changer in Berserk's long running storyline, an event known only as “The Eclipse”.
This is it, guys! The moment that defines Berserk as a series and sends Guts on his desperate quest for revenge. If you know what's coming, you will dread it. If you are new to the series, be ready for a shock. In what can only be described as gut-wrenching, the looming catastrophe that has been building up in the latter two movies culminates in a spectacle of blood and gore.
Although its impact may not be as strong as for readers of the comics, who have become more acquainted with the characters, it still holds one hell of a punch. Be warned!
The last movie of the Golden Age Arc trilogy is not only story-wise but also technically the best one . After honing their skills on the previous two movies, Studio 4°C finally strike a good balance between the classic animation and their added 3D features. And with a run time of 110 minutes, it's the epic climax to Berserk's most important story arc and something not to be missed!
