About time Toad got the spotlight! The upcoming quirky WiiU adventure/puzzle/platformertitleCaptain Toad: Treasure Trackeris coming out this December 5th! With a colorful and quirky world to explore, it looks like Nintendo are making the Wii U even more appealing this holiday season!

The gameplay model was first introduced by theAdventures of Captain Toad minigame found withinSuper Mario 3D Worldbut will now take the form of a full fledged adventure, where the basic objective is to safely navigate through various obstacles in order to reach all that lovely treasure! Our Mushroom Captain takes a unique approach to the platforming genre as he has the ability to walk and run but lacks the ability to jump, instead requiring players to manipulate the camera to find all the secret nooks and crannys across the map! The game makes use of the Wii U GamePad's features, as the player can touch the screen to manipulate platforms, as well as use gyroscopic controls to aim in certain sections of the game!

With Captain Toad leading the way, this Nintendo spinoff offersa surprising amount of gameplay variationand should be a welcomed addition by almost anyone who enjoyedSuper Mario 3D World, or platforming games in general!
