If you're on this page, then you've likely played a Smash Bros game before and are looking at this expensive version to move on to the next edition of the franchise. If so, then you have no reason to worry. The game is just as fun as ever and it's more fit for competition than ever before if that's what you want! Especially with the online competitive 1-on-1 mode that allows you to play with strangers on a stage resembling Final Destination and no items. If you're looking for a party game or just some awesome fun, Smash has online options for that as well! They've even managed to get at least one patch out to balance characters, which is an important step in the right direction for the game series.
If this is your first time considering purchasing a Smash Bros game, then all I can really say it to get it and try it out for yourself. Gamecube controllers are the preferred controllers for most people, including myself, but the other controllers available to the game are just as easy to pick up and try out (even if the Wiimote is awkward for just about any game). The game is easy to learn, so it's accessible to all--not just hardcore fighters. And more so than Mario Party, this is probably the best party game to get. The Smash games never failed to turn up several new people when we held Smash nights at college, and it was very easy to play all night. This game, specifically, will even allow up to 8 players to play one match if you have the controllers. If you've got the 3DS version of the game, that can act as a separate controller as well!
The game is worthy of its 5-star rating and its immense popularity. Get it!
