The book is the reprint of the "Phantasy Star Official Setting Documents Collection" that has been originally published in 1995 by DotCom, and it'll be available from November 2017.
The first chapter has been released in 1987, and it was the first original RPG developed by Sega.
Melting SF and Fantasy elements, the protagonists wander across three planets, thanks to its animations and legendary characters, the game become a big hit of that time. The success convinced Sega to create a series of it.
The 2000s have marked the birth of the online games "PSO" and "PSU", due to their action-RPG mechanics, both have been played by a huge number of people. The book covers all the chapters of the series from the beginning to its three sequels: "Phantasy Star", "Phantasy Star Remake", "Phantasy Star II: The End of the Lost Age", "Successors of Time: Phantasy Star III", and "Phantasy Star IV: The End of the Millennium", with interviews with the developers, character designs, storyboards, and setting documents. At the beginning of the book, you'll find two exclusive posters drawn by the box art illustrator Hitoshi Yoneda, and by the character designer Tooru Yoshida.
