For animal lovers
This title in my opinion is for those who love Zoo Tycoon, or animals in general. I have put in a few hours into the game and found it to be just a relaxing "collecting" game, and I'm all for relaxing collection games.
The zoo management part has been trimmed and simplified, while emphasis is being put on the beauty of the animals themselves, and there are TONS! Well over hundred to be exact. I have not unlocked them all, but I currently have some of my favourite animals in my zoo and they look Gorgeous in 3D! and the animation of each animal is very realistic and lifelike.
For the most part, you will observe the animals using your 3DS, moving and taking pictures as though you are using a real camera, while gaining points by taking pictures of your animals and posting them up on your zoo blog to gain visitors. The more visitors you get each day, the more animal points you get, which are then used to unlock more animals and lands and also to purchase food and such.
You gain new animals by spending your hard-earned animal points on one of those capsule vending machines, and each purchase will give you a statuette of an animal which will then be added to your library, and your zoo. You can then go to the library to read up on the animal or to view the statuette in 3D.
There are also challenges which you can accomplish, for example "place 10 animals in your zoo" to gain more points which will give you more currency to spend on your zoo.
All in all, it is a pretty good game, not much of a challenge, but it is pretty! Very pretty! and did I mention the audio is also superb! The music is as soothing as you can get with this sort of game, while the animals themselves sound pretty much as they would in real life.
So yea, for a zoo tycoon and animal lover like me, this is a good purchase, but as a gamer I wished the "game" part could have been more fleshed out.
