Dragon Quest è un RPG ortodosso e su vasta scala che si concentra sul passaggio di generazioni, di padre in figlio. L'eroe è stato portato in missione con suo padre fin da quando era bambino, e crescendo ammirando suo padre, ha inevitabilmente ereditato gli scopi e gli obiettivi di suo padre. Come ha detto lo sviluppatore: “Un RPG è una storia che puoi vivere [attivamente].” L'eroe in questa storia non è semplicemente un personaggio che controlli, ma un uomo in cui ti trasformi. Tutto è stato aggiornato e reso in 3D quando il gioco è stato riproposto su PlayStation2 nel 2004; quattro anni dopo, è stato ulteriormente migliorato per la sua versione Nintendo DS. Classic RPG

Awesome and now portable
I've been playing the crap out of this game! I've already gotten married, become King of my father's castle and had kids, my wife went missing, I found her again - only to be turned to stone I've recently been rejuvenated and once again, don't have a clue how my wife is doing! I'm so broken up, inside! )':
But the kids are with me and we're going to see what we can do!
Please pardon my personal anguish, but this game is really great! Improved graphics over the Super Famicom edition! Portable! Awesome story-line and game-play! This is one of my favorite Dragon Quests, yet! Sorry that I've probably already said too much! I just love and enjoy this game! ;3
