Fun old school 3d platform adventure that's a bit rough in spots (and no English)
The game is made by Nintendo familiar company Goodfeel. For the old school fans, the game does give a lot of Goemon feel back in the SNES and N64 era, but plays more traditional 3D platformer style. Although it shouldn't be a surprise, there's no English included in this version, and while English is not a necessity to enjoy the game, it's pity they didn't consider it. Performance is a bit even too, but not distracting enough to stop playing.
fun
It's bummer that game does not have a english language cuz I would like to know about the story, other than that game is fun
Goemon vibes from the the original Goemon devs
For those who remember the Goemon games by Konami on SNES and PS1, this is the game for you. It has real Goemon vibes for me, there's a lot of Japanese cultural references, decent level design. It's not as smooth to play compared to some of Nintendo's offerings but it performs well. It can be quite a challenge in places. It's in Japanese only at the moment but it's still fun to play, it's worth doing some google translate on the collectibles as they are regional speciality gifts for each region. Highly recommended.
Fun kids game with annoying performance hitches
Game is a fun 3d platformer with some little gameplay twists that are enjoyable and added collectathon as per other prior games of the genre. Bakeru's different powers he gains throughout have their uses but we found to stick with using the yoyo transformation the most. A nice touch is the different themes of the stages based on the location across Japan (wasn't aware in Shirakawago houses could roll over you!). Overall the game is all good but there is one glaring issue for those that notice slowdown. The framerate is uncapped, meaning that it performs mainly around 30 (or less) with the odd occasion where it runs above that (while nothing is on the screen or when you find an Unchiku (the yellow poop). Can feel really jarring at times. Other than that it's a nice kids/family game to play together.
