Final Fantasy: The 4 Heroes of Light

Played it before the releasement of bravely default series, the artwork is similar and char too! Totally fun and easy Crown job system.

The plot is simple as it was aiming for the old school feel. The battle system seem simple at first, but in that simplicity it could make the game quite hard during earlier hours, especially when you have no access to jobs, being called crowns in this game. Unlike other RPG you can't run away from battle from the get go. You need to earn that ability, so expect to die a lot until you can learn "escape".

Once you can customise your characters and have a full party, that is when the fun begin. If you ask me the bonus contains is not that good. You can skip them if you are pressed for time and need to get on with other games. You will like this game evermore if you like Final Fantasy 1/3, cause this is a mix of those two.

shame that the game is relatively short as an rpg since the focus shifts between character groups often so you don't fully invest in them.

This game surprised me in a positive ways, it is a genuine old school RPG. As it was mentioned in other review everything in this game is old school format, tough enemies, save points are very "rare". A must have for RPG lovers.

Four heroes of light really makes me feel like playing one of the classics FF games, but instead of sprites, we have nice graphics provided by Matrix software, which really know how to make gorgeous DS games. The job system was really well done and the abilities were really useful, the only downside is that some jobs feel very unbalanced. The combat system could appear to be very simple at first sight, but in the later stage you really have to plan very well your strategy for defeat the last bosses. Maybe this game required to be more polished on the gameplay side, but overall is a good adquisition for every rpg fan.
