Not exactly the reboot we wanted
Golden Axe returns trying to be relevant to the gamers today. What it ends up being is a derivative action game that lacks a lot of polish and loses too much focus on what made the arcade classic a classic.
The game tries to include some references from the arcade titles, but it fails to capitalise on the charm it had. On top of this the game fails to find it's identity in the process.
Although the game isn't outright bad, a game bearing the title "golden axe" definitely could've.. and should've done better.
It's an average action game should you choose to purchase or play it. Just know it going in to it, and you might end up enjoying the game.
