A Great Series
I really enjoyed Dead Rising on 360. Yeah I didn't like some aspects of it: weak early on, Otis constantly calling, regenerating convicts, etc...but after I put a ton of time in that game and leveled up, it became really fun.
I expected the same from Dead Rising 2, but this time we get improvements, weapon making, co-op play, etc... It's still as gory as ever, and the locations are fun and look great. There are a larger number of zombies on-screen compared to the prequel, but for some reason, the graphics aren't as sharp as before. The framerate is mostly consistent.
The biggest gripe I had with the original was how followers were useless and a pain to move around. I didn't like how it was almost pointless to try and rescue everyone or have a chain of followers at one time, because it was too hard to keep them alive. In Dead Rising 2, however, it's much more manageable, and the co-op experience helps out a lot. Overall, this game is highly recommended to those that enjoyed Dead Rising. But I don't think it's a game for everyone or even just gore hounds. It's an aquired taste.
