Gears of War 3

The Gears franchise has taken steps forward with each game without ever compromising or losing its essential elements. So, Gears 3 is the best yet. It's a great couch game not only for co-op campaign but co-op game modes like Horde and Beast modes.

I keep going back to this game for co-op and multiplayer. The story was nice and brought it all together at the end. A great game. No head popping sniping but it still earns that MA rating.

I have played all the Gears games and really did not like 1 or 2. There are so many things I can not stand about them. I still think the design of the characters is dumb looking and story is convoluted and boring. BUT Gears 3 makes so many improvements in game play and adds so much content, that I can not help but really like this game. I still think it looks dumb, and Cole is a racist stereotype, and the dialogue makes my ears bleed, but this game is REALY fun to play. Online, offline, horde mode, co-op mode. You name it. All the modes are great and really fun and really polished. It is amazing that a series I hate does such a good job improving it self each time that I can not help but like it. That being said I hope this is the end of Gears and the dev team puts what they have learned from Gears into a new series.

The first Gears game to support 4 player co-op in the campaign. Horde mode now allows the players to place barriers and turrets, allowing you to be a little more strategic than in previous games. Grab a few copies so you can play system link with your mates!
