Surprisingly Fun
I didn't expect to be amazed by this game but this game actually works. I did pass by some weird glitch/error in the game but it wasn't during the battle itself so it wasn't so frustrating.
You can play 2 local co-op and the 3rd co-op has to be online. You can choose the axe wielding, cross bow owning Dwarf, or a sword swinging, bow and arrow aiming Ranger, or a staff and spell casting Elf.
Being a girl I chose the girl Elf at first, but then my love for bow and arrow made me chose the male Ranger.
Each character has its own skills and special abilities that you can utilize in-game. The Ranger can find secret stash that was supposedly hidden by other rangers, and can see glowing footprints that will lead you to that secret stash. The Elf can collect herbs scattered around the level and mix them to make potions that will heal, increase exp gain, etc. The Dwarf.. I'm sure can do something. Haven't played him yet.
The story goes along with the Lord of the Rings trilogy but it doesn't feel like it's out of place because we're playing 3 side characters that apparently helps out the success of Fellowship's mission.
The levels may feel a little bit repeated, the survive "as long as you can while guarding/waiting for someone" type gets tiring after a while but, with the cool slow-motion camera, it makes you want to kill a lot of enemies just to see how their head is severed.
The enemy gets harder and sometimes are really annoying when they just wont die! But that's the appeal, right? Besides, who wants an easy hack and slash game?
After defeating the main enemy you've been chasing since chapter 1, Sauron is defeated you finished the game and now you are given a chance to replay it again to unlock the rest of your skills, try out different characters and simply get stronger by gaining more exp.
Did I mention you can change your face and hairstyle in-game?
