Much better than the original!
First thing that hits me when playing Nintendogs 3DS is that the graphics are SO much better! Really! No jagged lines in these puppies or kittens (not that there were in the original). I really love seeing the texture of the fur, and I was really excited about kittens being included. Take note though, most activities are pretty much done with the puppies--the kittens don't really do much of anything. But that's okay (FYI, you have to get a puppy first, a kitten can't be your first pet). Unlocking all 27 dog breeds was much easier and happened much faster and more frequently than in the original game (I was so glad I didn't have to earn up a ridiculous number of trainer points like in the old version). Oh, and an addition I was really grateful for was that you can now add furniture to your home! Only 4 pieces though (I think), so don't go gung ho on designing the whole place. :P I think it's a lot more fun than the old version, and another good plus is that you don't have to let your puppy rest for half an hour before taking them out on another walk! In my joy of discovering this, I think I took one of my dogs out on walk about 5 times in a row (yes, I was excited). Not sure what else to say, except that I think if you want a virtual pet of some sort, I'd definitely recommend this if you have a 3DS.
