Super fun and good music variety
While it’s not the most complex of games out there, Taiko no Tatsujin has always been good fun, and getting two games for the price of one is a great bargain. There’s no DLC you have to buy, all the songs are unlocked as you play, and there’s a great track list ranging from new anime intros to old classics.
Collecting friends along the way as you travel through time is fun and relaxing, and while the difficulty does tend to randomly ramp up at times, you can always go to the menu and adjust the difficulty levels as needed. The game automatically swaps to English so you have no worries if you can’t read Japanese, which is an added bonus.
Overall, a great and somewhat mindless yet relaxing game. My only complaint would be that in story mode you can’t seem to use the motion controls for the songs, and must use buttons instead. However, I’m assuming that if you own a Taiko drum, that it should work just fine, though I haven’t checked this.
