Sodom, Germany's proudest thrash metal band, along with Destruction and Creator, are known as the "Three German Thrash Birds" and have released a special album "Forty Years at War" to commemorate their 40th anniversary in 2024.
Three years after the release of "The Greatest Hell of Sodom," a special album produced to commemorate the 40th anniversary of Sodom's founding in 2024, the band has finally completed a new album produced in the strongest condition in its history. All four members were involved in the songwriting process, and the drum parts were recorded on a 24-track analog tape recorder. No studio processing or digital overdubs were used, and the album was thoroughly pursued with obsessive care and Tom Angelripper's endorsement. The artwork was done by Zbigniew M. Bielak (Ghost, Mayhem, etc.), who also did the artwork for Ghost and Mayhem. DISC1 includes the new album, and DISC2 is a bonus disc containing all five songs from the EP "1982" released in 2023, as well as a booklet.
